Scholarships

Study scholarship

  • Three months stay in Russia for research purposes.

Intented for: MA-students of partaking universities. Goal of the scholarship: helping students on their way, for whose research a stay in Russia could be beneficial. The Scientific Advising Committee of the NIP will judge whether or not the scholarship will be awarded.

Conditions

In order to apply for a scholarship, you need to meet the following requirements: 

  • The participant is a MA-student of one of the participating universities or has recently graduated (less than one year ago).
  • The participant has a clear research goal for the stay in Saint Petersburg.
  • The participant takes part in the daily activities at the NIP.
  • The participant will give a presentation on his/her project.
  • The participant will write a report on his/her stay. 

 

The scholarship applies to a stay of 1-3 months.

Allowances

The allowances consist of the following:

  • Compensation of the costs of accommodation and stay of €700 a month.
  • Compensation of travel costs up to a maximum of €300.

The student/graduate receives a work place at the NIP, as well as logistical assistance. Furthermore, you will receive access to local libraries and archives. 

Application procedure

The following documents are required in order to apply for this scholarship:

  • A filled-in request form (see below).
  • A letter of recommendation of the professor or teacher involved in the research.
  • Proof of enrolment to the university (only for students and PhD-students).
  • A description of the research and a detailed working plan, including the desired period of stay in Russia.
  • A short curriculum vitae

Requests should be handed in before November 15th or March 15th. After handing in the documents, you will receive notification on when the application will be discussed. 

Orientation scholarship

A stay of a maximum period of 6 weeks in Russia to take a next step in one's academic career (master or PhD).

Intended for: students of partaking universities who just graduated their Bachelor's or Master's and are developing a research proposal for a PhD position in the Netherlands. 

Conditions

In order to apply for a scholarship, you need to meet the following requirements: 

  • The participant is a Bachelor's or Master's student of one of the partaking universities.
  • The participant has concrete ideas which can be developed into a research proposal during the stay in Saint-Petersburg. 
  • The participant takes part in the daily activities at the NIP.
  • The participant will give a presentation on his/her Master's or PhD research. 
  • The participant will write a report on his/her stay. 

Allowances

The allowances consist of the following:

  • Compensation of the costs of accommodation and stay of €100 a month.
  • Compensation of travel costs up to a maximum of €300.

The Orientation scholarship can be applied for throughout the year, but the deadline for document submission is one month before the start of the scholarship. After handing in the documents, you will receive notification on when the application will be discussed.
