Since March 2022, the NIP's activities in Russia have been suspended, meaning no joint projects are being developed with Russian state institutions. However, the NIP continues to represent six Dutch universities and provides support to Dutch researchers, lecturers, and students in the broader field of Russian studies. To maintain a sense of community and serve as a meeting place for Slavists, the Institute occasionally organizes events for the NIP network in the Netherlands.
Past events:
  • NIP Days at the University of Groningen

    14–15 November 2024

On 14–15 November 2024, the NIP Days were held at the University of Groningen.

    14 November: Study Day

    • Interviews with two prominent translators

    • A masterclass on literary translation led by Gretske de Haan, a UGR alumna

Students from Anthropology, Philosophy, and Russian Studies were then invited to attend a presentation by Radboud University’s Think Tank, which in 2023 conducted research on the history of Russian migration in the Netherlands and Europe.

The day concluded with a screening of Ella Manzheeva’s film The Gulls, followed by a discussion with the filmmaker.

The event featured a lecture and discussion led by Dr. Peter van Nunen.
