With regards to educational programs, we offer summer and winter programs, courses for extra credit, and post-graduate courses. In agreement with your own university, extra credit can be arranged for almost all programs. The programs are available to non-students too.

Summer school Russia: a First-hand Experience

Each summer, the Netherlands Institute in Saint Petersburg organizes this interdisciplinary programme. Russia: a First-Hand Experience offers a broad overview of the history and culture of Russia and places Russia in an international context. The most important aspects of Russian culture will be discussed in lectures and excursions. The course provides a solid starting point for follow-up Russian studies or participation in Russian society.

Costs of travel and accommodation are not included in the cost of the program. You can arrange your trip by yourself. The NIP helps with applying for your visa and can advise with regards to accommodation. A list of affordable hotels and hostels, as well as other practical information, can be found here. The NIP can also assist in finding accommodation for longer periods (room/hostel or host family).
