Van 13 t/m 15 november 2025 organiseert het Nederlands Instituut Petersburg (NIP) in samenwerking met de Radboud Universiteit een meerdaags programma over de toekomst en continuïteit van de Russische studies in Nijmegen aan de RU. Deze NIP-dagen bieden ruimte voor reflectie, ontmoeting en inspiratie – voor studenten, onderzoekers, beleidsmakers en andere betrokkenen.
Op donderdag 13 november wordt er een brainstormsessie gehouden met vertegenwoordigers van het International Office, docenten uit relevante opleidingen, scriptiebegeleiders en andere stakeholders aan de RU. Samen verkennen we de huidige situatie en de contouren van de toekomst voor Russische studies in Nijmegen.
Op vrijdag 14 november zal de levende traditie van Russische studies in Nijmegen tijdens de conferentie zichtbaar gemaakt worden. In thematische blokken gaan studenten en docenten met elkaar in dialoog via duo-lezingen en gezamenlijke presentaties.
De conferentie wordt afgerond met een vertoning van de NIP-documentaire over de zusterschapsrelatie Pskov en Nijmegen en een informeel gesprek over de stedenband.
Op 15 november neemt het NIP-team deel aan de Zevenheuvelennacht in Nijmegen: een sportieve afsluiting van drie inspirerende dagen.

Tijdens de sessie voor sleutelfiguren uit het veld – medewerkers internationale samenwerking, docenten uit relevante opleidingen, scriptiebegeleiders en andere stakeholders – wordt de huidige stand van zaken en de contouren van de toekomst voor Russische studies in Nijmegen verkend.

De conferentie wordt afgerond met een vertoning van de NIP-documentaire over de zusterschapsrelatie Pskov en Nijmegen en vervolgd een informeel gesprek over de stedenband en een netwerkborrel.
In de afgelopen drie jaar heeft het NIP zijn activiteiten moeten aanpassen. Nu bezoeken van Nederlandse studenten en onderzoekers niet mogelijk zijn, richt het instituut zich op de ondersteuning en dienstverlening aan de deelnemende universiteiten op afstand. Het NIP blijft een maatschappelijke en culturele brug vormen en biedt ruimte voor het onderhouden van het netwerk van Nederlandse slavisten en kenners van de Russische cultuur in brede zin. In samenwerking met de Nederlandse universiteiten organiseert het NIP regelmatig evenementen in Nederland.

NIP Days at Radboud University: 13–15 November
Networking Event for Students, Researchers, and Alumni
13–15 November 2025, Nijmegen
From 13 to 15 November 2025, the Dutch Institute St. Petersburg (NIP), in cooperation with Radboud University, is organising a multi-day programme on the future and continuity of Russian Studies at RU in Nijmegen. These NIP Days provide space for reflection, exchange, and inspiration – for students, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
On Thursday, 13 November, a brainstorming session will be held with representatives of the International Office, lecturers from relevant programmes, thesis supervisors, and other stakeholders at RU. Together we will explore the current situation and the contours of the future of Russian Studies in Nijmegen.
On Friday, 14 November, the living tradition of Russian Studies in Nijmegen will be showcased during the conference. In thematic sessions, students and lecturers will engage in dialogue through duo-lectures and joint presentations.
The conference will conclude with a screening of the NIP documentary on the sister-city relationship between Pskov and Nijmegen, followed by an informal discussion about this city partnership.
On 15 November, the NIP team will take part in the Zevenheuvelennacht in Nijmegen: a sporty conclusion to three inspiring days.

Over the past three years, the NIP has had to adapt its activities. With visits by Dutch students and researchers no longer possible, the institute now focuses on providing support and services to its partner universities remotely. At the same time, the NIP continues to serve as a social and cultural bridge and offers a platform for maintaining the network of Dutch Slavists and experts on Russian culture in the broadest sense. In cooperation with Dutch universities, the NIP regularly organises events in the Netherlands.
